Sometimes the single hermit lifestyle can get to you. Not having the time, energy or inclination to start dating for real, I decided to go all Carrie and date myself, or the city. So on Friday I took myself out to a movie and a walk. Later there was dinner. It was so much fun I think there's a possibility of a second date.

Crawling from under the paper scrap to say: Happy New Year! I started mine by watching a dutch movie and going to yoga. I am also working on a fun project (hence the papermess). So far so good, this 2008-thing.

Lazy friday

Christmas came and went, with dinners, relatives, board games and candy. My no-stuff wish worked pretty well and I mostly got gifted with non-stuff. Now it's wonderful to be home alone again, enjoying the quiet, lazing about in my pajamas.

I've been looking for ideas because I think my website is due a facelift; I need to start looking for a summer job.. (wink wink, potential employers!)

There is one thing that we do every year, without which Christmas is not a Christmas, it's watching The Snowman in the morning of 24th. Besides that all I want from Christmas is rest, lots of time for reading, and maybe a little snow...

quiet sunday

I am getting more and more type-obsessed. Here's some nice geometrical work.

Listening to weird fishes, napping on the sofa, feeling a bit blue, but in a good Sunday-like way.

Two deadlines, one haircut, zero cupcakes and a magazine illustration later...
I am still busy! A dutch exam on Wednesday, lots of reading to do.

Still hooked on Ane Brun, Rubber and Soul ... I know that rubberband-feeling. Of course she is performing in Amsterdam again in April. Way to rub it in...

I saw the Helvetica film. It was so interesting, and funny too. Those type designers are real weirdos, you know <3

candlelight and cupcakes

At school this week: a very serious art project (above). End result will be a poster. All the other school deadlines are piled on top of each other and I have to get all the work done in the next six or seven days. I wonder why I don't feel more stressed out. I plan to make cupcakes and work-work-work all weekend.

I love this time of year, the darkness feeling much warmer than the constant rainy gray. Soon it's completely dark at four in the afternoon, perfect to come home and wrap up for a little nap. Or, like yesterday, sitting at a candlelit cafe table with a friend, watching people rushing by... And after talking for ages we went to see the Stockmann Christmas display windows... both all excited like little kids.

Today when I woke up there was snow.

I've been feeling quiet.

Tomorrow is buy nothing day. Here's some hints on how to spend the day. My family is also doing buy nothing Christmas, or something pretty close to it.
